Harvey High School was a wonderful experience for me. I have attended Harvey all four years and they were all exciting and unique. From the diversity, to the teachers, to classes, they were all apart of the special high school experience I had. The faculty are all so kind and caring, there will always be a staff member around to help with any problem. Between the teachers, counselors, and administration, someone will be there to help you succeed. Also, the students have so much spirit and enthusiasm for school events, such as sporting events, clubs, and musical performances.

Harvey High School is very average. It has a limited but well taught variety of athletic teams, as well as school clubs. It continues to include each and every student, and makes each student feel welcomed. However, there is a reoccuring theme of teachers who are there to just teach. Not build a connection or help students socialize. Most teacher do a good job at teaching and engaging the students, but some are evidently just there to pass you. Overall, the environment is extremely diverse. Though the environment is not entirely positive. Though there’s implements to stop bullying, and good resources, the school does a poor job of incorperating other important topics. The school cares about it’s kids. I’ve seen several kids being suspended for being rasict, sexist or downright mean. However, there’s other instances which the school needs to improve on that goes beyond the agenda set from the Board of Education. It’s the engaging conversation which this school lacks.
I like how diverse Harvey is. And how connected the students are. My highschool isn't the typical school. Where the jocks belong to the jocks and the nerds belong to the nerds. No matter your status, we all get along. I believe that our differences bring us together to better understand each other. Attending Harvey High school has made me knowledgeable to other cultures and has taught me how to appreciate them.
