I really like going to school at HMTCA. I’ve attended from 6th to 12th and I’ve experienced ups and downs. I love my friends there and I love most of the teachers. The only thing that I wish would change are the teachers attitudes. Over the years I have had my disagreements and bad experiences with teachers but recently I had a really bad one. My whole class had an issue with a teacher because we weren’t really being taught. Multiple students and multiple parents talked to the teacher in question, the vice principal, and the principal but nothing was done. Other than this experience my high school years have been wonderful. Everyone has bad experiences wherever they go and just because I had one doesn’t mean that you will!
Hartford Magnet Trinity College is one of the best high schools to get college readiness experience and get connected with a variety of opportunities. There are sports for everyone to enjoy, such as soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and golf, baseball, and tennis in the spring. There are also clubs pertaining to all interests such as GSA, Girls Club, and Black Student Union. To bring positive change to this school, humanities classes can be provided such as cooking, life skills, etc.
The guidance staff are amazing. They go the extra mile all of the time. When I entered HMTCA high school in 9th grade, I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be going to a 4 year college. The guidance team built my confidence up, challenged me in huge ways, saw something in me I didn’t and I was accepted into all of the colleges I applied to. Without the guidance team, I would never be where I am today!
