I moved to Hartford in 11th grade. I walked in with a gut feeling of being alone of not going to be able to fit in. As soon I went into my first class all of that changed I felt welcomed in right away. Everyone was so nice and welcoming students and teachers. It was a much smaller school then what I was use to but I got like a family vibe. Everyone got along everyone looked after each other. Coming from a different school environment they helped me cope with the new setting real quick. All the teachers and staffs are nice kind heated people. They dedicate their full time to students and go far and beyond for us. The only thing that I would change is the size of the school I feel like over the years Hartford as a whole has grown and will keep growing. Much more the schools the Hartford High school would except many more students if they could. Another thing that I would change is some of the classes well to just have more options but like I said its really due to the size .
My experience of Hartford has been greatly uplifted by the amazing people in this community. However not every community is perfect and must deal with the bad apples of the group. These people bring problems such as violence and substance abuse to Hartford which is a very unfortunate cloud cast over the city of Hartford. If you were to meet my best friends along with the shining people of Hartford you would agree that we are more than the shadow cast over us by our problems. My teachers, coaches, and mentors have all helped me become the person I am today. I have enjoyed my experience here and I hope all future generations to come will as well.
The school is okay academic wise, but doesn’t have any good clubs. Some teachers aren’t the best, some are great.
