Harrison Preparatory is an IB school that provides students with a challenging curriculum that help us for college and / or university. Besides this, Harrison Prep is a middle school and a high school combined. This makes the transition from middle to high school go very smoothly. Though some students might complain about not getting the typical "high school experience" as the school does not provide sport activities, the school provides many other clubs such as the High School Chamber Choir which earned the superior rating again this year along with the Knowledge Bowl Club placing first along with many other clubs.

Harrison Preparatory School is a school that goes from 6th - 12th grade, making the culture of the school more unique than an average high school. The school is also an IB school, which is the International Baccalaureate Program that is worldwide and gives a workload towards students in 11th and 12th grade that is similar to college. As a student that is in their last year of high school, I can say that there are ups and downs to how the school handles the program in general. I believe that the things that need to change are the ways that the teachers handle the workload that is given to us; the workload seems to be, at times, more than what college students get. Also, with the requirements of the program, I feel as if the teachers need to assign these assignments better because many of them are at the same time, making it harder to manage.
Harrison Prep is a good middle school but as a high school it failed to support me to be ready for college. Unfortunately I didn't realize it until junior year but I was too deep. It is an IB school which is a good program but they don't do a good job of helping students decide if it's right for them. If you attend HP junior and senior year you're forced to enroll in the IB program, there's no running start but offer 2 AP classes. The after school help is beneficial and provide snack and busses home. Also the school doesn't have sports which causes students to transfer. Lunch there is good considering it is school lunch. The clubs there don't benefit everyone, a BSU club petition was denied. There are a lot of students who feel like they can make hurtful, race related comments because there are no consequences.
I did connect with some of the staff over time and they made my experience not terrible. One of the reasons I didn't transfer was because of them and the few friends I made.
