Harmony Science Academy - Waco has a lot of flaws and positives. While the teachers are great and work as hard as they can to make sure their students learn, the administration seems to work in the opposite direction. There are many academic clubs to participate in and the students mostly get along well with each other. There are very little athletic options for students- only a basketball, volleyball, and track option for high school- and the food is horrendous. When it isn't expired, it usually tastes bland and disgusting. The campus itself is relatively old and disheveled, but the middle and high-school students are relocating next year. It is also very easy for an intruder to come into the school- there are very loosely enforced security policies at this school, which is very concerning. Overall, this school only gets 3 stars because of the effort the teachers and students put in the school to make it better.

I have been at Harmony since the 4th grade and now I am a senior and still in the same school. I didn't like Harmony at first but it taught me discipline and education. I was never into robotics but now I am captain of my robotics team because Harmony encouraged me to join and further excel within my education and even extra curricular activities. I really enjoy how small the school is because I adapted to having that one on one time with the teachers and knowing my piers very well so build relationships. Although Harmony was small they provided so many opportunities for my education. I will graduate with college credits, going to college and knowing what I will study, I have a lot of knowledge about financial aid, and a plan for my future. The best thing I love about Harmony is the fact that if you are on free or reduced lunch then your dual credit is paid for.
The science and athletic departments have been found lacking on multiple occasions. However, the school is small, allowing teachers more one-on-one with the students. Overall, I would say I had a pleasant experience.
