Being at Harlandale is like being with your family everyday, everyone is caring and friendly. Everyone opens their relationships to new people, even if they don't know much about them. There was never a time when I felt lonely or weird about something because someone was always there to make sure everything was okay. Harlandale has a certain culture not every school has, that's what I love most about it because not everyone gets to go to a school where the whole community cares so much for the school and is so involved.
My time at Harlandale High School has been challenging but also a great learning experience. I’ve lived across the street of this school for as long as I can remember; as a young girl I couldn’t wait to go to high school to make new friends and learn the high school level curriculum. I learned that Harlandale is like a small town where no one leaves and your kids are in the same class as your old high school buddies kids. I’ve wanted to stand out to become something bigger than this community. To do this, Harlandale has given me copious amounts of opportunities to better my education. I am currently working on getting my Medical Assistant certification through the health professions program. The rigorous work has helped me improve my knowledge in the medical field. Moreover, the sports teams I joined helped me improve my communication skills and taking leadership roles on and off the court. Harlandale is the reason I push myself everyday to work harder and accomplish my goals.
What I liked about Harlandale High school was that the teachers were really caring and wanted us to succeed. They are proud of how far everyone has come. The food we get served could be better, that is the only downfall. But this school has taught me a lot and has prepared me for the future. I am definitely ready to graduate.
