I think that my past 4 years at Harker Heights have truly allowed me to grow as a person. The teachers are all above average, especially if you choose to take the much harder curriculum of AP and Dual Credit classes. The school spirit and club activities are all engaging and great to be a part of! Much like other schools, the cafeteria food is pretty average, but above all, Harker Heights strives to assist its students in having them work towards their futures. One of the programs that HHHS places a large focus on is their fine arts. As Harker Heights is the only high school within the Killeen Independent School District to have an orchestra, it is essential for students who would want to be involved with this program.

Harker Heights high school is very diverse, being that it’s less than 30 minutes away from the biggest military base in the world! It has many different activities that suit just about every child attending. With that being said, HHHS has a little down fall, which is the fact that the school is practically overcrowded. Making it 10 times harder for the teachers to give the students amount of education needed.
Harker Heights High School offers dual credit and AP classes. I’m lucky to take these dual credit and AP classes at no additional cost during high school. These courses allow me to enter college with many credits. Also, taking these classes better prepare me for college and require more studying, projects and homework that will make sure I'm accustomed to the workload required of a college student. These higher-level classes require that I manage my time, and I’m able to balance my responsibilities.
While I've been challenged academically at my school, I would like to see more student-centered activities/school spirit activities and traditions that make the high school years more memorable. I would like to participate in unique student body activities that build excitement and add to the high school experience. Harker Heights High School would be better overall with more effort put into school spirit by the staff and students.
