My experience at Hardin Jefferson High School has been amazing. I recently moved here and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and was beyond kind. The athletic program has been one of the biggest highlights for me because HJ gave me the opportunity to play soccer at school. If I were to hope for a change it'd have to be a change in the dress code, though it helps our students look well obtained it'd still be nice to be able to wear appropriate shorts on a hot day.
I have had good experiences at Hardin Jefferson. I love the school spirit around homecoming, the basketball and football games, and the pep rallies. One thing I wish I could change about the school is the friend groups. I feel like so many people are not included if they're new or not from Sour Lake. But other than that, I lie going to school there!
I like how we celebrated homecoming. We had a week full of activities leading up to homecoming day. Monday-Friday we would have dress up days. Monday-Thursdays we would have games hosted during lunch where each class would take place in and Friday we would have class olympics. If I could change one thing it would be the inclusion but it isn´t the schools fault in general the students have to make a difference and change that themselves.
