It's an incredible school. Having gone there K-12th, I have experienced nearly every class, teacher, sport, activity, etc, that Harbor Light offers. It is a small school, which allows you to build relationships with other students and teachers in a way that you can't in larger schools. Their academics are outstanding, and the curriculum they teach is higher level than the surrounding public schools. The main negative is funding- since it is a private school, it doesn't receive government funding, meaning it doesn't get all the "newness" of public schools. For its size and funding, Harbor Light has done a phenomenal job with its sports and what it offers. Finally, the most important thing about Harbor Light is its Bible based teaching, and how the school is founded and runs on Christian principles.
Though my experience at Harbor Light Christian has only been for two years, I feel that the preparation for many different aspects of life is very solid. I know that I have excelled in every subject through my time here. The teachers teach very thoroughly and classroom atmosphere is enjoyable in most, if not all classes. The other students attending are also very enjoyable to be around. Although, since it is private school, the class sizes are smaller and I would have liked to attend a school with a larger student body.
Harbor Light Christian schools value the relationship with their students and the Lord. Teachers, staff, and parents care about you at HLCS.
