A group of students are currently constructing a greenhouse facility behind the school with the help of the former head of the sustainable/organic farming program at Dartmouth College. In future years, crops grown organically in the greenhouse will be available to students for meals.
Our school is run be a democratic student government where students and adults work together to develop policies and procedures that run the school. Students have as much say as adults on most topics, which is helpful for when students disagree with policies and want to change them.

Bullying is not a prevalent issue at Hanover. The dress code was controversial during my time at Hanover because students were wearing "distracting clothing" but this seemed to be aimed at the girls' attire only and seemed to blame girls for distracting boys.

In my opinion, the guidance office is very helpful in changing course schedules and planning for college, but not so much for social/emotional support.
Most teachers are excellent at their job, but a few seem to be trained as engineers/scientists etc but not actual teachers of the material. I would like to see improvement on teacher patience with students who suffer from emotional trauma.
