Hancock is a very good school safety wise. If you talk about academics it is a different story. The students have very few electives to take including college courses. They are starting to offer more college classes now than ever but they are still behind their time in that category. There is almost zero help preparing for the SAT, and also little help when it comes to looking into colleges and figuring out what you want to do with your life. Overall I would say the school is okay, but could use a more college and career ready focus.

It's a small school. It was great in terms of experience, but boring in terms of school work. There is only so much a teacher can do and the school offered almost nothing in terms of college or AP courses. To their credit, they are beginning to change that, but it is slow going. It has a great small town environment with everyone knowing each other, which depending on what kind of person you are is either a good thing or a bad thing. Overall, I wish the course work would have better prepared me for college, but it gave me enough information to get through my courses.
Administration is very selective when it comes to helping certain organizations amongst the school. The Athletic program is very much supported, though male sports are more focused on over female sports. The arts are very well represented amongst the student body and the teachers who guide the students. Unfortunately the administration pays little attentions to the arts in the school. The National Forensics League team is well represented amongst the student body and the coaches. The administration supports the NFL team very much, they've helped us on our travels during nationals.
