The things I liked about Hampton High, is that most to all teachers were very encouraging about the future, but also pushed yourself. They pushed you in and out of the classroom, furthermore in sports. The things I would love see change is we need more academic goals and courses in order for the students to believe and achieve more. College courses need to be offered to people that have no other classes to take their senior year. More tutors and after school tutoring!
I thought it was a great experience and the teachers truly care about the students. They attempt to get you ready for college and if you are willing to put forth the effort you will get there. There is plenty of opportunities for students to get involved at the school in competitions, athletics, and clubs.
As an alumni my review will be provided as honest and unbiased as possible. I loved my time at Hampton High School. The Teachers and staff are well qualified and friendly. This school has a small town atmosphere. The total student body stays around 300 to 400 students. Everyone is like Family. The sports teams are generally above average. The only down fall is that the building is very old and outdated. Most of the High school in Carter County are outdated. I personally would like to see Carter County Consolidated the 4 County schools i.e.; Hampton, Cloudland, Unaka, and Happy Valley into 2 i.e.; Carter Co. West and Cater Co. East.
