It was overall a good experience. I received good education, and many people I met were very friendly. There are some downsides though. It may sound silly, but Hampton is very bad at regulating temperature in their schools. It will be 10 degrees outside, and it will feel like 50 inside. I am not alone on this, everyone else is shivering around me as well. I have Raynaud's, meaning my fingers and toes go numb easily in cold. My fingers often turn white in school. Unless it is 70 or above outside, it is unbearably cold inside the building. It makes it impossible to concentrate on class since my body naturally prioritizes my health. If I am in pain because of the temperature, I am not able to focus properly on anything else besides keeping myself warm.
Most teachers are great, very nice and very supportive. Some teachers are problematic, but generally pretty good. Really good education with a lot of AP and CHS courses. Can be extremely stressful, as there are high expectations on students. If you stick with the right people, the culture is good. If not, lots of sexism, racism, homophobia, etc. especially in certain sports teams. Frequent use of slurs and other harassment towards racial, gender, and other minorities. Admin just kinda ignored it, they tend to brush a lot under the rug. Not enough punishment for racist and homophobic acts. Activities are all pretty good, I was part of like six or more extracurriculars. Not much diversity but I think it's getting better. As far as I know, Hampton is a pretty typical western PA suburban public school. Can't wait for graduation in a week.
Hampton High School is full of students who are entitled and seem to believe the world revolves around them. There are good people, but their are kids that are extremely 'white' and think they can do whatever they want. To disappointingly say: the entirety of Hampton Township is like that as well. Full of Karen's too! If you want to come here, I'd delete this school from your history and find a different school. Definetely find a different community.
Don't get me wrong: their academics are good, and so are the teachers. It's the KIDS I'm talking about. And where I mention the Karen's, that's the community. Most are not, but there are some.
