Hammonton High School is a school that dedicates time to student oriented activities and academic advancements. As a member of the Hammonton School District, I can easily say that I have grown substantially as a student and also as a confident person. Hammonton's clubs and sports teams truly emphasize the importance of team work and inclusion. In my experience no one is left by themselves, and most students make a conscious effort to make students of all grade levels feel welcome. As a Freshmen, I never felt alienated from my senior teammates, rather I felt warmly welcomed to my high school. Although I feel Hammonton High School is a generally good school, I do believe it can do better with bullying and alienation outside of clubs and activities in the school halls. There were instances where I have witnessed, or myself have experienced, teasing based on sexuality and/or social status.

The building is very nice and well maintained. The teachers and staff keep track of the students' whereabouts as if it's a prison. Not to mention, most teachers believe they have the right to take away students' right to use the restroom. In most classes, students are granted 3 bathroom passes for that class per marking period (45 days). Should the student not use the bathroom passes, many teachers offer students extra credit for the marking period. When this issue is brought to the staff's attention time and time again, they continue to ignore the problem as always. While I am thankful for my education through Hammonton High School, it was really the staff and students that made my high school experience so miserable. The guidance department offers limited assistance to students. However, one thing I will say is that the school board is very committed to keeping all students safe and out of harm's way
I enjoyed my 4 years at Hammonton High School for the most part. I felt safe and secure at this school. I had many friends and thought the teachers did a very good job with their students. I was able to play sports and enjoy the freedom of a secured safe environment.
As for my opinion on something that could change, it would have to be the guidance department. I always felt uninformed and like I was a bother to my guidance counselor. I was scared to even schedule an appointment with her and she rarely followed up on any discussions we had. I was basically on my own with regard to locating and/or submitting information to potential colleges and getting the documents I needed submitted to potential colleges.
