Hammond High is also home to the International Baccalaureate program, in which the students excel. There is a family at Hammond High that one finds throughout the staff and students that one can't find anywhere else. Hammond High is one of the best high schools that a child could attend in this area. Go Tors!

I like the many different classes available for students. For example, one could choose the International Baccalaureate program, Honors classes, medical classes, engineering classes, the Career Program, and many more. I’d like to see the teachers care more about their students actually learning. Most of the higher level class teachers are great, but the “regular class” teachers usually do not care if a student fails or they will just give participation points so that a student will pass without having to do any work. So I’d like to see teachers actually wanting their kids to learn, and to stop being lazy and actually teach.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and overall everything about it. I was a transfer student from a magnet school in New Orleans, and I had low expectations for HHMS, but as I began school and later graduated, I realized I lucked out and hit the lotto on schools. All the staff and community are very supportive not only with your dreams but with your education and they all seem to see the best in every student. The programs and clubs offered were unique and very inclusive. They have a little bit of everything for everyone and its very appealing. The kids there all are ver friendly and kind. You will never have a hard time finding a friend ash it seems everyone is friends there.
