Hamilton High School Reviews
Rating 3.98 out of 5 124 reviews
I went to preschool in Zeeland, because that's what was closest. But my parents had decided to move to the Hamilton community school district. So that's where I grew up. It's a relatively small school, we only have about 800 students in our high school, and to be completely honest the community is kind of close-minded, and their views on people that are different than them are slightly problematic. I would love to see more people here open up to change and be more accepting of different lifestyles and beliefs. One group of people at hamilton high school that I think does a great job of being accepting is the teachers. Coming into school each morning I feel as though they truly care about each and every one of us and want the best for us. I believe that each teacher truly cares about broadening the horizons of each student that crosses their path and wants them to be prepared to leave a small rural town and find success.
Overall, I think Hamilton is a pretty nice school. There are a lot of things that you can be involved in here. Anything from sports, to DECA, to Science Olympiad. Hamilton also goes out of their way to make the community involved, which is really nice. The teachers genuinely care about our success and are here to help us when we need it. The only thing I would like to see change is some of the curriculum. Our school doesn't offer honors classes and we have very few AP classes. I would like to see Hamilton challenge their students not only outside the classroom but inside as well.
I loved Elementary School at Hamilton El. I had so many amazing teachers and faculty who helped me grow as a learner. Middle School was good too, but the science program in 7th and 8th grade was not beneficial. Please stop telling students to design ideas for an outdoor space and then never do anything with it. Very deceitful. I had some good teachers in high school as well, but for me, many of the good times are clouded over with the fact that I was told to read a book that I told the teacher that my parents did not allow me to read. Hamilton- please stop undermining parents.
