The student population is very diverse which creates a unique environment for students to get to know other people from all different backgrounds. The school had an incident with hazing in 2017 which was completely devastating. Through the incident, the principal and administration staff offered answers the students needed and helped to calm students, parents, and the press. Even though Hamilton says that the sports and academics and arts are balanced in this school it is very clear that the athletic department will constantly be prioritized over everyone else. Although this concept of balance has continued to improve since the school got a new principal, it still needs to come along way before it is completely at a point where all the departments are given the appropriate attention and funding they need. It was a great school and produced many high achieving students that will go far in life.
Review Hamilton High School
Hamilton provides a friendly atmosphere that made me feel safe and belonging. Having to be able to speak freely about my culture and share my thoughts aloud without being put down by others, shows how nondiscriminatory and how diverse the school is. What I want to change about this school is a stricter background check on students, there are some students in school who fail to act like adults and are immature in their presentation as representatives of Hamilton. More well-behaved students need to attend Hamilton to represent how great the school is, not just in sports but academics. I recommend taking Honors classes and AP Classes there, as the curriculum really prepares students for college and one is surrounded by a well-mannered environment of an intellectual and fair class.
Hamilton offers a variety of opportunities for different students. Whether you want to go into engineering, business, theater, architecture, etc., Hamilton has a width option of elective courses to help you discover your passion. As a result, I have been able to explore different career fields. In addition, Hamilton offers a vast number of dual and AP credit courses to help students earn college credit in high school. Right now, I have more than 26 credits. Hamilton has provided me with many opportunities and a great learning environment. For the most part, all the teachers at Hamilton would help you improve and become a better learner. I really enjoy my time at Hamilton.
