Teachers were excellent and well educated in their specific classes/studies; most teachers (especially for AP classes) would dedicate hours of their free time to be available for their students to contact them or meet with them.
In terms of mental health/education department I felt like there was an extreme lacking. As a student who suffered from various mental illnesses (e.g.: generalized anxiety, depression, PTSD, anorexia nervosa, etc.) who actively sought help from the school social worker and counselor the most common result I got was a lecture on how high school and puberty was difficult for many teens and many suffered from some form of mental illness and that they simply had to "get over it". As an openly identifying trans man (female-to-male) the school counselor/social worker definitely lacked education in gender/sexuality spectrum and felt that the way I felt like I was treated by because of my open identification as a trans man was often neglected and ignored.

Having the opportunity to receive an education is amazing, and receiving it at Hamilton High School make everything all that better. The school strives to be safe, welcoming and safe. Some teachers are awesome, and the amount of friendships created is a great life experience. They have a variety of clubs that target academics, athleticism, morality among others. Alongside that, they offer plenty of sport choices, as well as academic classes. The amount of student athlete commitment- to universities and academic scholarships the students have received speaks about Hamilton.
Overall, I've had a good experience academically at this school. The teachers are well-qualified and help create an interactive experience for students which makes learning fun. There are also a number of AP classes available to students which help students prepare for college-level material/expectations (would like to see the addition of Physics 2 though). If something about this school could be changed, it would be the athletic program. Some of the coaches do not have the experience needed to help an athlete make remarkable improvements in your game; you may have to seek outside coaching. In addition, the practices can be really long and exhausting, considering that they are usually around 2 hours long in extremely hot weather; it may not be worth your time to put in this time everyday to see small changes in your game.
