It is in utter disarray, sadly students are not challenged at Hamilton county high. Unless the student is willing to strive to gain wisdom and accomplishments they will fail in the long run.
At the current high school I am attending, I like the fact that the school itself is trying to change and trying to become a better school. In the past the school itself has been downgraded by many people in the community and out of the community. But the students decided that it was time for a change. Although, our school is still in the process of becoming a great school again, there are still somethings I think should change. Such as the way certain programs are looked over because not all programs receive the equal amount of support.
What I like about HCHS is that it's a small school so you know most people around here. What I don't really like about it is that some teacher's don't really teach so you see many students failing their Algebra, Algebra II, and Geometry classes. Also I know a couple of students who have been retained for more than 2 years since teachers don't really teach them how to solve problems. They majorly use technology but they don't teach you. Also money isn't really used for books and better teachers. It's used to remodel the cafeteria, buy TV screens, etc. I would also change some staff since some of them can be rude. There was a teacher who didn't like students so she would give them failing grades.
I am a Senior at Hamilton County High School. There are only a few good teachers that actually care about the students and are actually smart enough to teach the classes. The Football and Basketball programs are greatly supported, but other than that all of the other sports seem to be inferior. Classes are a breeze here, meaning that there is literally no college readiness unless you truly excel in school. The middle school is awful, but the high school is not too bad. There is a pretty good bit of diversity, and not many clubs if you do not count sports. Overall, the campus is pretty safe. We are a very poor district, but somehow our old Superintendent seemed to spend more money than we actually had. The facilities are not that nice, and most of the time the food is awful, but it is free. Our school has little to none parent involvement, unless the parents actual involve themselves. There are the dedicated moms, but other than that not much at all.
The after school activities was great you will enjoy them if you participate.
Most of them are really their to help students but I feel some of them just do it for the pay.
Football gets more sponsor then any other sport. Soccer is probably the less to be help. Basketball is probably helped more also. We barely get any help with our soccer uniforms.
Wouldn't choose this school again because we are a D school. We used to be an F school. But we started to do better. They were going to shut our school down. Teachers barely care for us.
They don't pay much attention. They pay attention more to their favorites then the rest. Or we just domt get grades for our wor we do.
The sports are okay, not the best. The boys football team went to State my 11th grade year, and the basketball team went to State my 10th grade year.
I wouldn't choose this school because I don't think im learning as much as I should be learning.
They're nice but do not teach as good as they should.
I participate in soccer and the culinary club. These are really good programs to be involved in. The treat you like family each student that wants to participate, each student in general for that matter. These activities gives us a wide variety to experience different paths that may be taken as a career path.
The teachers show their dedication to their students. Even if the student is stubborn the teachers go above and beyond to make sure that the student succeeds in his/her studies.
The most popular sport to join would probably be the basketball teams. A majority of students support the basketball teams and show school spirit. The boys or girls always put on a good show for their support group.
The teachers at the school care for their students grades which is good to know its very encouraging. The schedule can be altered in some way but its not much of a big deal.
Like any other school their can be some teachers that may not try as much as others to help students succeed at earing higher grades. Though we have teachers like that we also have a good amount of teachers who will help with anything even if they don't teach their major of study. Some teachers are even willing to stay after school to help tutor.
