From Hamden Hall Country Day School

The Hamden Hall Experience starts with academic excellence as enhanced by our dynamic learning environment and fostered by our esteemed faculty. Our core values - excellence, support, participation, accountability, and respect - are interwoven in that overarching experience and are integral to the academic growth and success of every student.

From the school's notable beginnings in 1912 as the nation's fourth country day school to its current standing as a hallmark of excellence, Hamden Hall continues to embrace the spirit of family and community that has defined the campus since its opening days.

Our first priority is offering a rigorous curriculum that challenges students academically. But our involvement in our students’ well-being and preparation for the world beyond our halls doesn’t end there. We also care about our students and the adults they become.

We are a PreSchool through Grade 12 community.

I came to Hamden Hall my freshman year, and it was the best decision I could have made for both my academic and social development. The community here is so welcoming, and the friendships I’ve made over the last few years are friendships that I truly believe will last into my college years. The faculty here is so supportive as well, and teachers are always willing to give extra help to students to ensure that students’ needs are being met. I would strongly encourage anyone who is considering Hamden Hall to come join our close-knit hornets nest!

I am currently in my junior in this school right now and I love my Hamden Hall experience. I met so many great teachers with fascinating teaching techniques and styles which I love. The faculty is very responsible for the students' health, academic performance, and future potential. I can totally see myself succeed in this school!
Hamden Hall is incredibly strong academically. Students have the option to take just about any class they are interested in, and the teachers are passionate and intelligent. The support here is stellar; this is a school that truly cares about its students well-being inside and outside of the classroom. The extracurricular opportunities are also fantastic. The clubs cover just about anything you can picture. The theater and music departments are wonderful, if a bit under-appreciated by some of the student body, and there are always opportunities for involvement. The diversity of the student body is improving, but the diversity on the faculty is rather disappointing (almost the entire faculty is white). Hamden Hall is a very collaborative atmosphere. Students are, for the most part, very kind and helpful. I have enjoyed my time here, and I feel that Hamden Hall has prepared me well for the next chapter of my life.
