Halstead High School Reviews
Rating 3.69 out of 5 42 reviews
The best experiences that I had was during my sophomore year. I played JV in volleyball and a girl on the varsity team got covid. She had to quarantine so they pushed me up to varsity to take her spot as a setter. She played setting in the back row and they switched her out when she got to front row. When they had me playing I got to play all the way around and pushed the two girls that play front row for the covid girl off of varsity and onto JV. I surpassed their expectations. It was one of the best experiences that I had because people were hyping me up during that time. However, the worst experience was that my class was called the experimental class. When they wanted to see if something would work they would use my class to see how it goes but none of the other classes had to do it so we did a bunch of stuff that no one else had to. We are also the nicest class in our school so we all were annoyed when all our senior rights were taken away because of the seniors from last year.
My experience at Halstead high school has been short since I am a new student however, it is an amazing school with high school spirit. Although, they do struggle with some student support and how the school doesn’t know how to keep their students involved in their school and having low school spirit and dances aren’t as fun as they could be or how spirit weeks they could do more to make them more entertaining. So, Halstead is a good small town school with high hopes for each team but, could do more with school spirit and dances. Also, I love the scheduling and how it’s just like college and how we have breaks during the day and how we get the time to think and do our homework and how the teacher are relax and treat you like humans and not like students and give you time to do things during school and after school. I do suggest going to this amazing small town school.
My absolute favorite thing about my experience at halstead has to be the teachers staff. Always very friendly and willing to help, and make certain classes that would usually be very boring, much more fun and enjoyable.
The sports and school spirit is also something I like.
