Halls is full of very caring teachers! They are the best part of the school, actually. However, the opportunities at this school are very limited due to its size. Unfortunately, it just isn't possible to provide the types of opportunities to students at this school due to both the school population and the county population itself. That being said, it was nice to be known in class and not just another name on a piece of paper.
My experience in my four years attending HHS was very good. I have had a lot of fun during my time at HHS and most of the teachers are good at their job and very well liked and well respected. The overall atmosphere of the school is one that I enjoy. With it being a small school it is easy for everyone to know each other which I like. HHS offers many clubs for students to join including DECA, FFA, Upward Bound, and many more. The faculty for the most part are very well liked by everyone in the school. The biggest downside to HHS is sports. In previous years Halls was very good in many sports, whereas currently, Halls is good at Volleyball and Tennis, while the other sports generally perform poorly. There is a diverse selection of sports, however, so that is a positive in regards to the HHS sports. HHS does fairly well in preparing students for college through the many dual enrollment and dual credit courses offered.
My school is small but big at heart. I have so many great memories at Halls. I would not be the person I am today without this school. They have should me how to push myself even when I didn’t think I had it in me. I struggle with dyslexia but the teachers all knew I had more in me so they pushed me. My grades have always been good but my test scores not so much. The staff at my school have went out of there way to make sure I get in the school I want. I may not have the ACT score, but I have the teachers that push to make sure I have all the letters of recommendation because they know I can do anything. Halls with always be my home and I think them for the faith in me. With that being said I wouldn’t change anything about my school. I would just like to think them for everything.
