Hall High School Reviews
Rating 3.77 out of 5 266 reviews
I loved my experience at Hall. The teachers and staff are for the most part accommodating and helpful if you seek them out for academic support. The sports teams at Hall are generally very good and we have always had a great athletics program. The counselors here are very helpful for all things involving college, but they definitely lack in the mental health department. The atmosphere at Hall is very competitive academically which can be stressful for students. It is the social norm at Hall to take multiple AP classes and counselors sometimes even encourage students to drop a lunch period (not all counselors do this but I've heard that some do). Although Hall can be competitive and they lack an understanding of mental health issues, our school is always willing to change and they encourage students to discuss their concerns with staff. Overall, I had a pretty good experience with Hall but every student is different!
Hall is a school well known for its academic achievements and class options. There are many wonderful teachers as well as many fun classes that suits anyone's interests! In addition, our sports teams, especially track, are well known in our state and offer inclusive sports for all skill levels, like tennis and cross country. Our music program is well praised especially our jazz band. Our school is well known for Pops and Jazz, a concert that features our jazz band, choir, and jazz dancers. It's a spectacular show that is popular in our town! Hall High School has become a centerpiece of our community and offers many experiences to its students through academics and extracurriculars.
I like how Hall offers a variety of classes and different levels. This offers classes that each individual student can find that both, interests them and fits their level of learning. Also, Hall gives students the opportunity to make decisions about the courses they want to take by only requiring very few classes to take over the course of their years at Hall. Something Hall can work to change is how they help their Juniors/Seniors with college preparation. I think Hall needs to dedicate more time to college preparation and applications that way all students are aware of what they have to do. I think it would be very beneficial if students were helped each step of the college process and if there was time set aside during the week for in depth college discussions and preparations.
