A very family oriented Christian school with smaller class counts for quality education. A private school that offers quality education, sports, clubs, and opportunities to benefit from early college courses as well. The children grow up together while advancing in grades together. My Aubree has 16 in her 1st grade class and she is reading at a 3rd grade level. The security of the school is great. The front door is locked and a video door bell only allows access. The gates the children enter are closed and secure during school hours. The Headmaster is very involved with the students and staff.
I have loved my experience at Halifax Academy. The smaller student body has made my learning more hands on. I feel that's I have a deeper relationship with my teachers, as they have a bette roppodtunity to get to know us with fewer students than you may see at a public school. For example, I have a fantastic role model in my biology teacher. In fact she will be taking me on my second mission trip this summer. If I could change one thing about Halifax Academy, it would be the textbooks. Currently, our textbooks are old, and not in the best shape. However, overall, the school has made my high school experience excellent.
This school is privileged in the sense that the student do not understand how privileged they are. The school it self is small and closer the the poor side, but the students are not making for a very interesting establishment. I like that I have the opportunity that this school gives, to finish some required college work before college. But overall I wish that there was a better school to attend. This school is built in a small rural southern area where minorities are uncommon there for as a minority it is recommended to attend this school as a small naive child rather then a thoughtful teenager.
