Overall I have had a great experience at Haldane High School! I feel like they have prepared me for college in the best way possible. If it wasn’t for them, my grades would not be as good as they are now. One thing Haldane could improve on is helping us get a little more information about scholarships.

I’ve been going to haldane since kindergarten. My last day of school is this Friday and I’m a freshman. I do not plan on returning to haldane next year. I cannot stand my peers and the racist activity going on. It promotes a toxic environment within a predominantly white community previously inhabited by the KLU KLUX KLAN.
The lack of diversity is astonishing. Not just in race/ ethnicity but in PEOPLE. I have been with the same group of 80 kids since kindergarten with a few newbies here and there. Nothing too memorable.
Going to the same school for 9 years and counting is damaging to the young mind, creating a sense of “safety” and lack of willingness to leave and explore the rest of the world.
At Haldane there is a huge lack of opportunities to earn college credits and there aren’t many clubs in which one can express themselves.
And last but certainly not least, the amount of fake/toxic people provides an unnecessary obstacle on the road to success in my education.
My daughter went through the school system from K-12 and I’d say it’s a mighty little engine that could. An amazing principal and high school teachers. The community extends into the school and vice-versa. Any shortcomings on funding and there is a generous school fund that gave the kids a few perks that a small public school wouldn’t have. Negatives: Limited languages and art, no lunchroom for the high school so they eat in the hall, lunch is often at 10:30, depending on grade, not very diverse student body. If you can get past that, it’s a great experience.
