About
Enrolling
The Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology began in 2007 as a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) charter school. Gwinnett County Public Schools sought to create a new high school with a rigorous, authentic STEM-focused curriculum.
GSMST’s first decade has been one of growth and achievement. The inaugural Class of 2011 (111 graduates) paved the way for what is now a learning community of approximately twelve hundred students each year. The Georgia Department of Education awarded STEM Certification in 2012 and again in 2017. The Technology Association of Georgia has repeatedly recognized the school as a leader in STEM education. GSMST leads the state of Georgia in SAT & ACT scores and is nationally ranked by US News and World Report and the Washington Post. The challenging curriculum and high levels of performance have made GSMST the top-ranked school in Georgia every year since 2013.

Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science & Technology Reviews
The schedule is very intensive and not flexible for students with major time commitments, and lunch is unfortunately quite short. Schedule accommodations are being made though!
However, some teachers are not very good, and there always seems to be a shortage of teachers. The clubs offered are all academic; no non-academic clubs were allowed until this year, and there hasn't been much progress with non-academic extracurriculars. While there are many STEM courses offered at GSMST, there are almost no options for anyone who doesn't want to go into engineering or computer science.
The community at GSMST is unlike any other, with students motivating and helping one another achieve their goals. The opportunities, such as the internships, college visits, and resources, are unmatched. While the school has its flaws, there are many aspects that make students want to attend.
