At Gunnison High School, students are stripped from many opportunities due to the lack of classes offered. It is true the alternative school offers online classes and one may sign up for college classes, but their are few options. Surprisingly, Gunnison recently did get a cosmetology class for those looking to advance in that specific career, but that is all I can think off offered to those going to work right out of highschool.
Also, there are only a handful of teachers who actually know what their doing. What I mean by this is these teacher's either don't qualify for their job, or they don't put forth the effort to actually educate their students. But on the bright side, the teachers/staff are more connected to their students on a personal level. So, the faculty care about each student as a human being rather than an object.

I feel my high school experience was pretty average. Gunnison High school is a small school and therefore faces many issues presented with an institution of such size, such as: Lack of diversity, few school sanctioned activities, and inevitable bias taught within every class
I had an amazing experience at Gunnison High School. I was surrounded by supportive teachers who did their best to help me learn all of the material even though I was involved in tons of different activities. I also loved being surrounded by kids that I have known since we were little. I enjoyed the various student run activities such as the pep assemblies and sport activities because we all had the opportunity to get involved. All of the administrators acted for the best of the school community and it allowed for a strong feeling of security. It was an amazing high school experience overall.
