Gull Lake is great, if you're rich, white, attractive, athletic, and intelligent! I was relentlessly bullied and excluded because I just didn't quite fit the mold of the perfect GL girl. Everywhere I went I was made to feel like an outsider - classes, events, even my teammates were horribly cliquey. There are a handful of great staff members and teachers that I could tell cared for me deeply, but because they didnt experience things the way I did, nothing was done. I was so broken down that I was unable to express my need for help, and felt as though I deserved the social isolation the other students granted me. I know I'm not the only person that experienced this, and the emotional scars I have from my 10 years in the district still remain. I've grown a lot since I've graduated, but it has taken a lot of work to increase my self confidence and self worth after all I went through during such an essential growth period.

Teachers here are generally knowledgeable and overall relatively well-liked. Sports are a big part of Gull Lake culture - and Gull Lake offers lots of sports. The atmosphere of the high school is average - the student body does tend to be cliquey and very racially uniform. Diversity is generally lacking. Overall, not a bad high school.
I have had a lot of fun and good experiences while at Gull Lake. The friends I have made through school are wonderful. I have learned a lot through interesting and helpful classes, and feel that I am well prepared for high school. I am a member of many clubs and groups, and there are lots offered for various interests. The sports programs are very strong, with lots of options. I wish there was more support for the arts, since we don't have an auditorium. Also, there is very little ethnic diversity in the school, and I would love to see a wider range of races in the school.
