I recently graduated from Guilford High School in May 2017. The best thing about Guilford was the teachers. From my calculus teacher, to my AP art teacher, each and every one had a particular passion towards teaching that you unfortunately do not always see. Each and every one of my teachers were devoted to seeing us succeed, not just with finishing high school, but also beyond that. Many teachers of mine helped students with college application processes, advice, and unconditional support. Every student deserves to learn from teachers like these. I will forever be grateful to them and what they'd taught me those four years!

I am currently a high school senior, and I would say that I think Guilford is the best of all the high schools in the district. The school offers a multitude of experiences that help prepare students for the future. The Health academy offers a CNA certification job shadowing course that is excellent for prospective nurses. The Production Academy has a program that allows its student to go off-campus and build a Habitat for Humanity House. There, students get a first hand experience in the construction world, allowing them to use these abilities to go right into the workforce after high school. The teachers all care about the well-being of their students. Some are calm, chill, and collected, and others may be harsh, but have the best interest of the students at heart.
Guilford High School has been interesting considering the recent amount of physical fights involving both students and parents. Although there have been recent improvements such as the new field house(2014) and a big jump in the performing arts. New custom marching band uniforms were just supplied in 2019. We as RPS205 have a local "all city" where participating schools get together to perform at the Cornado Theatre. We also participate in All District and All State, run by ILMEA. Just recently we have a student representing Guilford in the All State Orchestra for the first time in 20 years. The E-Sports team has also won first place in a state competition(2019). As a whole Guilford High School has its achievements but it also has its downfalls such as the varsity football team and safety issues.
