I have enjoyed Grundy High School the whole time I have been there. The teachers and staff are always nice and helpful, and the students are very friendly. It is a smaller school, so the teachers and students have an excellent relationship that is almost like family. The wrestling team is excellent and have won twenty-one championships. All of their sports are fun to watch and are a great pastime.
Overall a good community. Most teachers you have will become mentors in many ways and give you knowledge to help you later in life, however, this school will not help you prepare for college. Everyone that has graduated this school and decides to go to college quickly realizes that they never were required to learn how to efficiently study. You must have humility if you wish to attend this school. Being able to handle being "messed with" will help you fit in with the students here. The County School Board does not know how to fund their school system. My Elementary School was shut down due to funding. We could not afford toilet paper. They are also a bit too old to know how to regulate electronics that is assigned by the school. This school is a great place to attend if you plan on getting a high school degree or specializing in a trade at the trade school and graduating. NOT great for college readiness...
My Overall Review on this school, as a sophomore, is it's a really poor school. There's so many factors I dislike about this school. I feel as though, I try to go to school to "blend in" because there would be the feeling of discomfort if I don't and that makes a big issue on me focusing on my education. As a individual studying here..I feel as though the teachers don't put in the effort teaching in a matter where it grabs the student's attention. Not very communicative with students and I really don't feel challenged because they give the "easy" route out to pass high school. I just want to prepare myself for college and I really am not benefiting from this school. One pro about this school is the guidance counselor always finds ways to satisfy a students' need in progressing above other classmates and help with supporting us on presuing our dreams.
