Groton provides top-notch academics without a doubt. Much of its appeal and self-advertising also centers around its tightly-knit community, which allows you to foster extremely close relationships with the people around you. To this day, years after Prize Day (our version of Commencement), my roommates and best friends from Groton are people with whom I speak daily and consider the closest thing to family I have outside of my household. However, its remote location and traditional values make for limited social life, and its strict administration makes for high rates of discipline. You'll find it very easy to "get in trouble," and more difficult to "have fun." Students should be prepared to figure creative ways to enjoy their time while managing coursework.

Groton provided my son with a well rounded education. The faculty and staff go the extra mile in everything they do to ensure the highest standards are being met. When Covid hit, they sprung into action and students continued to be challenged and their needs were met albeit virtually. They did their very best to give the graduates a graduation to remember even though it was virtually. Groton offered small class sizes, individualized attention, and provided a safe environment for the students to learn and grow. The school aimed to have a diverse student population and did so very well. The college counselors were well prepared and guided the students to colleges that were right for them.
Groton is the best! Great people who all care for you and amazing friends who become like your family. The classes are challenging and engaging. They are also small and discussion based and science classes have frequent labs. Teachers care a lot about supporting you in and out of the classroom. PLUS fun traditions, cool sports and clubs, and good food. not super amazing sports teams competitively (varies w/teams) but very fun and good way to make friends
