I enjoyed attending Gretna High school, although it is a very non-diverse school with many rules. Being in the midwest I understand that it can be difficult to make things entertaining and fun, but taking away pep rally’s and not having many clubs causes our school spirit to have gone downhill. The teachers at Gretna High School are all very intelligent and care about each and every student! I feel very safe when surrounded by the students and teachers in my school. I enjoyed going to Gretna High School, but my experience could have been a lot better.

I came from a public high school in the greater Omaha metro area that offered AP & IB programs, which Gretna High School lacks. Gretna offers 1 AP class. Those AP/IB courses are essential to admission to colleges outside the state to make you seem like a competitive applicant.

In addition, Gretna High School does not weight grades, as a result, there is no class rank. Both of those factors are also essential to admission into competitive schools, something no one at this school admires to do.

Gretna High School does an excellent job of conditioning you to think small, not question their diversity, and be "happy" where you are. None of their classes are remotely challenging as almost every teacher is a coach and there to coach a high school sport, don't get me started on the teacher who hooked up with his player.

If you aspire to go to a top 50 college, Gretna isn't going to prepare you for the application process or college courses.

Gretna lacks rigor, diversity, and competence.
Gretna is a wonderful school. Acedemics are outstanding with excellent teachers for the most part. We have a ton of choices when it comes to elective classes. They keep adding to it too year after year. Gretna schools also work with one of our local community colleges to allow students to take several college classes to get a head start. Another awesome program Gretna and the local college had is a program called the Career Academy, which allows students to apply and start learning their trade a year or two early. Counselor's help with getting you prepped & ready for college.
Administration listens and truly cares about the students. Facilities are top notch as well.
