My experience at Greer Middle College Charter High School has been wonderful! The teachers are truly extraordinary and they go out of their way to help their students. The administration does an excellent job of running everything and keeping everyone on top of their game. As a student with an IEP, I must say that Greer Middle College does a tremendous job of making sure I have access to all of my accommodations and that I will always get help when I need it. They are also extremely excellent at working with both the parents and students to make sure that the student is fully covered and that they have everything they need.
There is a good group of wonderful teachers who do genuinely care about the students and will always be there for them. However, you will not learn much. If you fail a test, you look over the test, see the answers missed, and fix the mistakes after school. The computers don't work. The internet doesn't work. The gym was built wrong. Everything is done poorly. In the class teachers lessons just skip important topics and dont allow students to actually learn. You can earn college credits but these classes are even worse than at the highschool. The class material is an absolute joke. Teachers lessons often consist of then reading through a textbook they have never seen. They have a senior program which is a good concept but poorly done. Ex. Students doing an art project will recieve poor grade from teachers who know about art. This senior project replaces all of students final exams and they are graded off of teacher preference. The rest of my family will be attending elsewhere.
Greer Middle College offered me the best high school experience I could have asked for. The faculty and staff are incredible, and they genuinely care for each student's well-being and success. The resources and opportunities offered to me by GMC are unmatched; the college preparation was rigorous but effective. I entered college confident in my ability to thrive because of the way GMC set me up for success.
