Great Valley was a good experience, overall. It could use some work in terms of diversity, but I was lucky to receive the quality education that it offers. I felt well-prepared moving into collegiate life, and I believe that they gave me adequate resources. The counseling department could also use some work. If you wanted resources to prepare you beyond high school, you really had to take it upon yourself. Something that I wish was talked about more in school is mental health. There was little to no discussion about preparing high schoolers to take on mental health struggles beyond high school in the real world. I think that the school could have benefitted from including more of that. In a competitive and high-performing high school such as Great Valley, mental health is of the utmost importance and should be treated as such. Although it had its flaws, Great Valley was a relatively positive experience for me. I am grateful that I received an education from them.
Great Valley High school has given me a great experience filled with many opportunities to excel. They have many wonderful teachers who have produced lasting effects on each of the students. For example there is Mr. Cohen, the music teacher, who not only all the high school’s music classes blissfully, but also went above and beyond to create personal connections with each student and give very insightful life lessons. I will always remember my time at great valley because of the teachers’ and counselors’ lasting impact on me.
Great valley High school is a great public school! Teachers are caring, students are mostly friendly, education is high quality with many opportunities.
