I loved the spirit of Great Oak. Everyone participated in Spirit Days where we would dress to a certain theme - it was so much fun! I also loved the football games! Again, there were so many student there to cheer the team on and it was just full of so much energy and fun. I also enjoyed the clubs and the marching band (I was a part of it for two years). Most of the teachers I had were amazing. I loved the Spanish program! A few teachers weren't very dedicated to their student's success though (for me, it was mainly in the history classes). Overall, Great Oak is a very energetic, spirited, and passionate high school with few downsides.

Based on my experience and being a student who graduated from Great Oak in 2015 I have to say my experience was enjoyable.

Along with the community and the students there, the school tries its best to instill school spirit. Whether it be through events, rally’s, or dances. Excitement and spirit always comes along with this school.

As for the teachers, they try their best to provide to students needs. Communication with them isn’t much of a problem and its fun when you get to know your teacher more! If anything, the teacher cares for their class.

As for the students, it is BIG and there is diversity. There are plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make friends.

Overall, I think Great Oak is a good school to enroll in if parents are debating which one to put their children in the future.
It's hard at first to get used to going to a school with so many students, but now that I'm used to it, I like it a lot! I love all the opportunities available to us as students -- we have a ton of classes to choose from, and over 200 clubs! That being said, it can be overwhelming. Something that bothers me about Great Oak is just how competitive the environment is. People get pressured into doing full IB along with sports and clubs, and end up way over their heads in stress. But all in all, it's a really great (oak) school! :)
