Great Hearts Monte Vista North Reviews
Rating 4.43 out of 5 23 reviews
Great Hearts has an amazing, rigorous curriculum that has prepared me for life in a way few other schools could. More important than the all-honors courses, and the emphasis on the arts, both visual and theatrical, is the Human Letters program. Each student will read great books from history, ranging from philosophy, to history, even political science. They will be taught how to think and how to question the world around them, and be better people for it.
Great Hearts Monte Vista has taught me the beauty of classics and a liberal arts education. Not only are the students nicer people (in general), but the faculty are inspiring role models. The curriculum is phenomenal and there are lots of options for extra curricular activities. My only complaint is the limited number of sports offered. Overall, Great Hearts Monte Vista North is an amazing school.
Great Hearts has taught me well in critical thinking and essay writing. Unfortunately, there are no electives. Even if taking a certain class will bring down the GPA of a student, the student is forced to take the class. As a consequence of this, there is little opportunity for tailoring the high school experience to fit each student.
