I am currently a junior at Scottsdale prep and will be graduating in 2020. My experience with this school has been spectacular and fulfilling. The curriculum is one that is rigorous and based around the honors-like classes. Its a smaller school compared to other high schools, but thanks to this factor it is far easier to communicate and get help from teachers. Our college counselors are very accommodating and easy to reach. They even aid juniors and senior in understanding applying and preparing for college with a college 101 class that personally relived a lot of anxiety about the process. As far as my other classes go, I have been most inspired by our Humane Letters course, a course that combines literature, philosophy, and some history to answer philosophical questions. My only major critiques on the school would be on the lack of diversity and inability to tolerate the current popular and changing culture.

I've been here ever since I was a sixth grader and it was a unique experience having to learn an interesting language such as Latin. My favorite part about Scottsdale Prep is the literature that we get to read for our Humane Letters class. There is nothing more exhilarating than a heated discussion on Justice and the nature of war after reading The Iliad. If there was one thing that I could change, it would the strict dress code rules. Since it is a liberal arts school, it places very strict restrictions on popular culture. While I understand the reasons behind it, sometimes it is a little incredulous when you cannot wear your own Scottsdale Prep athletic jersey in class. It sounds petty, but we, students, do not believe that our school jerseys will distract us from our learning environment or make us into unprofessional adults. Other than that, Scottsdale Prep is a great school, and I totally recommend enrolling!
I attended Scottsdale Prep for six years, from 6th-12th grade, and I had an amazing experience! This small liberal arts school offers a great education that's tuition free, with a variety of different clubs and sports and a fantastic faculty. I participated in choir, orchestra, basketball, and drama club, and that is only a fraction of what the school has to offer. I'm very proud of my school and I look forward to seeing it grow, as it has only been around for ten years.
