We have been attending Cicero Prep for 4 years and have 3 children(boys and girl) enrolled. Our experience has been extremely positive the entire time.
Children are expected to be respectful to each other and teachers and reports from our kids is that it is the case in the vast majority of time.
Academic challenge has been appropriate and has served to stretch without overwhelming the kids.
Teachers are excellent, easily approachable and very dedicated to their students both in academics and social development.
We are especially appreciative of the fine arts emphasis although would prefer if there was more options for band and orchestra. They make up for this with the excellent quality of vocal music.

Although the high school program is still new and evolving, the faculty and teachers have been more than generous as far as our suggestions and requests. I'm sure that once the school gets a few more years' experience, they'll be one of the best in the state!
My only real criticism of this school is that most of the teachers, for middle school anyway, are not certified. They may receive some teacher training, and are no doubt intelligent, but in my opinion, some are not truly qualified or experienced enough to teach. The result being tests that are far too long (math in particular) for students to complete, and some of the material in history for example, being presented in an extremely boring manner that is not engaging for the students. If this aspect of the school could be improved, I would be very happy overall. It is an extremely demanding curriculum; if your son or daughter is not particularly academic, or overly interested in learning, they will probably drown here. If they are, then they will likely flourish. I also feel that parental involvement is a must in a school such as this one.
