Chandler Prep has an ambitious liberal arts curriculum. The modern language program is taught in an immersion method, which I think is unique, challenging, and rewarding. Also Chandler Prep offers a variety of extracurricular and student leadership programs, such as mentoring and tutoring. However, the school only focuses on White culture, leaving students of other cultures feeling left out. Also the Pop-Culture rule doesn't have the most positive effect, for students should know about the current world.
Review Great Hearts Academies - Chandler Prep
Chandler Preparatory Academy is a charter college preparatory school that is based on classical liberal arts. Most students find the classes to be too rigorous, as we have honors classes and are one year ahead in education than public schools. Chandler Prep gives everyone an opportunity to improve and grow. All of the teachers experts in their subject. The curriculum is perfect providing all the necessary courses to prepare for college. In my junior year, I took a college placement test so that I could take a college course. I scored exempt out of reading, was placed into Calculus, and ENG 101. As a result, I did not have to take many college courses ergo saved money. For me, this was proof that my school had helped me prepare for college and had fulfilled its purpose. I would recommend everyone to join this school so that they too can become successful.
Chandler Prep is a great school for the more academically advanced students. There is little to no social scene so if you come here, have friends outside of CPA. The teachers genuinely care and want you to succeed, allowing you to learn more naturally. As a liberal arts high school and having a rigid schedule set by the administration, you will take classes you do not care about which hinders your desire to succeed in that class. However, there are many clubs that cover the activities not included in the curriculum. At CPA, students will obtain an extensive knowledge of history, although at a cost, being knowledge of the modern world. In conclusion, academic students will thrive at CPA while social students typically struggle academically and feel like they miss the high school experience. It is a very good school and students will no doubt leave a better, more rounded citizen of the world.
