I, unlike many, would not say that my years in high school were the worst years ever. This school does have its flaws and the district in general just needs more schools if they are going to keep increasing the population because it is understaffed, and the building, its faculty, and its facilities are just tired. I also think that, now going to a university that is quite competative, they need to be better at college readiness. That being said, the community is relatively small, friendly, and helpful which you can't put a value on. The teachers are also pretty good at what they do, and you can build some long-lasting relationships.
Overall my experience at Great Bridge was very interesting. I’ve learned a lot at this school and most of the teachers helped the students and really believed in us when no one else did. I was very happy to graduate from this school because it showed me I could go through so much and still have a great ending. Most things never went overlooked at this school and if it did it was because no one ever brought it to staffs attention. I will say this is a great school as far as academics and it is a challenge because you have to want to do better for yourself because the teachers will help you as much as they can, but the student has to want it for themselves, and that’s why I like this school because they truly did help every student who attended.
Personally, I have had an excellent high school experience at Great Bridge High School. I not only got an amazing education, but I also got the chance to connect with my peers and teachers in a great learning environment. My teachers pushed me to do my very best every day, which allowed me to be accepted into numerous colleges. I am also involved in sports and clubs at school that allow me to express my active side. I have been on the soccer team for all four years of high school and have participated in Key Club (community service). Being involved in these activities has helped me represent my school in a positive way, as it should be represented. Great Bridge is a community I feel safe and comfortable in and I am beyond grateful to have been a part of this school for the past four years.
