Granville Christian Academy is a good school, not very academically challenging though. Christian education is top priority which is admirable.Classes are small, hallways are narrow, and students are less than 5000 roughly. However, the teachers are great and chapel on Fridays are very good. School uniforms are worn everyday except Friday (dress down days). most classmates were friendly, however there is a lot of girl drama if you're not into that.
My child has been attending here since elementary school, and they are currently in high school. While I think the school is pretty well equipped for the younger children. As the grades go up the academics start to take a hit. I understand this being a Christian school, but their adversity towards any sort of honest discussion of opposing views leaves many of the kids to avoid difficult topics of discussion. This, unfortunately, leaves many of them seemly unprepared for the real world where they will undoutably be forced to face these hard questions. I understand these can be hard for children to fully understand sometimes when they are younger and you want to have a firm foundation for your child to stand on, but by the time they are in High School we need to be teaching our children to face these hard questions head-on, and not to run from them or avoid them. That might be hard for some people at first, but life is hard whether you acknowledge it or not.
I love the people, I met some of my best friends in this school. The teachers are nice and can show more attention to individuals due to small classes. I love the family feel that comes with my class, we bicker and pick on one another like siblings but at the end of the day, we all love one another. I do appreciate the teacher being understanding of our busy schedules and offering help when it is greatly needed. Though it seems our administration is taking longer than necessary to accomplish a task we must also take into circumstances. I do appreciate Granville Christian giving me second chances
