Granville Christian Academy Reviews
Rating 3.78 out of 5 63 reviews
The best thing about Granville Christian Academy is the heart the teachers pour out into their students. You can tell they want to be there and are not there just to get money. The worst part about Granville Christian Academy is their lack of consistency with rules. For example, one kid could do the same thing as another kid, but could be punished so much worse or less.
During my time at GCA, I had both positive and negative experiences. I encountered a teacher who made a racist comment about my race (Asian) and got fired later on, but not because of the statement made. Additionally, I asked to work on the senior pages of the yearbook, but they gave the task to a sophomore instead. My friend and I faced resistance when starting a diversity club for people of color because it was seen as "liberal." I didn't think spreading awareness and information would have to be taking a political stance. But, despite these challenges, I formed close bonds with lifelong friends. We enjoyed attending sports events, eating, and laughing together. And although I had negative experiences, I don't regret attending this school because of the fantastic friends I made. The best part for me was gaining friends whom I will cherish forever. The thing I'd like to see change is to accept the ignorance they hold and be willing to learn and listen.
Granville Christian Academy is a good school, not very academically challenging though. Christian education is top priority which is admirable.Classes are small, hallways are narrow, and students are less than 5000 roughly. However, the teachers are great and chapel on Fridays are very good. School uniforms are worn everyday except Friday (dress down days). most classmates were friendly, however there is a lot of girl drama if you're not into that.
