The teachers need to give better examples when teaching the lesson. Sometimes they end up confusing the students, but after a while the students start understanding the lesson. When the students have time to work on their homework or in class practices some teachers put music on which I feel keeps us interested in what we are doing.
Honestly, I went to 3 different high schools, all the same problems, teachers and staff didn't quite care enough. It was like an assembly line. As soon as I walked into Grandview, I felt welcomed, wanted and encouraged to do the best I can do. The thing that is required most from the students, is effort. As long as you were trying you hardest to do what you know is right, everyone else was right behind you. Even when you lose motivation, the school helped you to find it again. The staff recognized their students as people with great potential and never gave up on us, even if we gave up on ourselves! I wish I would've found this school sooner than later, but I am grateful I did! I love Grandview and everything it stands for.
I transferred to this school and what I like about it is that it actually teaches you what we need to our futures. For example we learn how to do taxes, bills, etc. They spend time to give us examples and we get to do them as practice. I like the fact that students are interested and very creative at this school.
