I really enjoyed and loved my time at Grand Rapids Christian High School. I really loved how there were so many opportunities to try new things and explore doing things you love. GRCHS offers a two week period called Winterim, where students are giving the choice of taking fun and informative classes, traveling across the country/ around the world, or getting real life experience at an internship in an area of interest. The school also had a great appreciation for not only academics, but also for athletics and the fine arts. Also, as it is a Christian school I was able to learn, question, explore, and grow my understanding of religion and grow my own personal faith. I loved my high school!
Grand Rapids Christian High School is a great blend of solid Christian beliefs and freedom of doubt for students. There is a great community at GRCHS, although initial freshman transition may be harder for transfer students. The teachers are welcoming and professional, yet well connected to their students.
GRCHS offers some unique benefits. First off, there is Winterim, similar to college interim, which is a 2 week period in which students can take fun classes, do career-oriented internships, or go on trips across the globe. Also, its block schedule allows students to take 8 classes per semester without feeling overloaded on a day-to-day basis.
Some things I hope the school can work on include racial and ethnic inclusion between group of students, greener operations (compost bins, less plastic/styrofoam use), and more ways to help make tuition affordable.

Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at GRCHS. The vast array of classes and opportunities have enriched my education for the better. I love how the teachers are very honest, sincere people whose desires are solely to benefit the students and encourage them on their way towards their futures.
One thing I'd change would be to use the lunch/office hours time better. This change will actually be made in the upcoming school year, which will help enrich the free time!
I would also like to see the food become healthier and in general better. At the moment, the lunches are rather stale tasting, although there's a good variety offered.
