It is unlike any other school. The school, nationally ranked, has won many awards for their student performance, fine arts performance, and overall school atmosphere. You get to be yourself and the teachers do too! Many of the teachers get to share their hidden talents with the school by performing with the students in shows and in music programs. This enable us to create close bonds with our teachers. Academically it is very challenging but rewarding in that it does get you prepared for college. I had no problems getting accepted to the colleges I applied to. It is rigorous but well worth the work. If I had to give it a negative I would say the only downside to this school is that it has no sports since it is a fine arts school. However, we do root for our neighboring high school teams and attend their athletic games. Overall, this school is fabulous! So glad I was lucky enough to attend.
I have been going to the Fine Arts since I was in the 6th grade. That was the first year it opened. That fact that I've been there all my middle school years and about to complete all of my high school time there means something. We are a small but very strong school overall. Every fine art strides to do their absolute best and I must say that they always deliver! Meanwhile, we are strong as academic school as well, with every student enrolled in Pre-AP and AP classes. The school's spirit has been slow to build up since it is still a relatively new school but this year has been at it's peak than ever before! At this rate, the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy will be on the map for one of the most successful schools in the state and nation. The Fine Arts honestly just needs a bigger building to match its talent but I still recommend this to any potential student reading this.
The teachers really care about the students and the class size helps. Students are encouraged a ton and tought to be themselves and outgoing. Many opportunities are offered to help students further their careers and interests. Great for those interested in the fine arts, including the behind the scenes! If you're interested in sports though our school doesn't offer them, however students have in the past created their own teams or jr leagues.
