Overall the HIgh School isn't bad. It's pretty good overall. The staff is nice and the administration seems to genuinely care for the students. My only complaint is that the school lacks resources and diversity. But the lack of diversity is to be expected at a place like Grand Ledge.
Grand Ledge High School is a good school, but there are some things that I would change. They preach about getting ready for college but they don't actually teach you how to write a good essay. Instead, they teach the three pronged thesis, which gets you absolutely no where.
I have had a very good 4 years here at Grand Ledge High School. The teachers and administration were very helpful in making sure that my peers and i are prepared for our next steps.
There are teachers who genuinely care, diversity like I've never seen, and amazing offered classes and curriculums. Also the cafetiria has like 5+ choices for food everyday. And very responsible during Covid.
Administration has good intentions working to amplify the diversity and inclusion of the school. History and English department are slightly lacking. Toiletries are often not working. Decent array of clubs but could definitely be better. Sports pretty decent.
Grand Ledge High School is a pretty good school. I came from such a small school and then it was like I had entered a whole new world in September of 2017. With so many students, there isn't much diversity and everyone has known each other since elementary school. So it was very difficult to integrate myself into this new environment. Although it was difficult, I enjoyed my experience overall and many of the teachers were so kind and really wanted you to do well in class which I respect.
I like the community that Grand Ledge High School has created over the years. Throughout my time at GLHS, I feel that I have had a good enough experience to prepare me for my future.
I would say my experience from Grand Ledge was less than decent, its academics and and college prep is excellent but the school and community itself lacks culture and diversity.
Grand Ledge is a great school, staff are very helpful and dedicated to helping students. Excellent music program.
As a transfer student, GLHS worked with me to make my academic transfer smooth and give me credit for the learning I had accomplished at my prior school.
Overall, my experience at Grand Ledge High School so far hasn't been what I would expect it to be. I have experienced bullying and racial prejudice. Positively, I have had many opportunities and college preparation that I may not find at a different school.
I liked the teacher interaction and the ability to get help when needed. The variety of clubs allow students to feel connected to the school and the student body. One thing that made the experience good for me was the ability to take AP classes and to earn college credit for free. One thing about this school that could be improved is the advertising to be a part of these programs as you really have to search to find that they exist. The teachers at Grand Ledge High School are very caring and want the best for their students which goes a long way. Overall, a great experience at GLHS.
I loved that the teachers made personal connections with me and talked to me about anything I had going on outside of school.
I liked the ability to choose your own classes and life. The teachers are very poor besides Brett McCartney.
I enjoyed my time at Grand Ledge High School. Most of the teachers that taught at this school were very kind, and helpful when it came to getting extra help. For every core subject, there is a help room. This means if you need help with any of the 4 core subjects you can go to the help room and there will be teachers ready to help you with what you need help with. The sports are very good, lots of sport options and great coaches. The food in the cafeteria is okay, it does the job but it’s not super wonderful to eat. The staff are very kind and good at their jobs!
A pretty good school, could be better, could be worse. Nice community, get involved, not big enough to be chock full of opportunity like some other schools, but good.
