In Grand Junction High School kids have many opportunity to show their talents. and specialness. Everyone is very respectful towards each other. In this school there is all kinds of different student. Some are white, African american ,asian and etc. But no one feels they don't belong there. Everyone feels like they belong in the school and is special. The teachers are very kind toward the students. Some are very funny and that help make student learn better. Teachers puts a lot of effort to help their student even if school was already over. Grand Junction High School have all kind of resources for students to use. There is nothing that the school don't have. The school really values student who put effort even if they are not smart. Overall this is a school everyone should consider going.
I enrolled at GJHS my sophomore year and I have been here since. The school I attended my freshman year I felt out of place. Because the students and staff were friendly and welcoming, I fitted right in. The teachers are enjoyable and learning fun. They expect nothing less than your best. The school was built back in the 1950's and its condition gets worse every year, due to a lack of funds in the community and the school district. Sports are nothing less than terrible at GJHS. Our athletic director does a poor job in doing what's best for the school's sports. For instance, she hired a coach who had some of the most wins in the state for a football coach. The following season the football team went 2-9; a worse record than the old coach. Since then the team's has suffered with the same record and nothing has been done to remove the head coach.
I liked how connected all the students were, there weren't really any outcasts nor bullying. It was a very diverse school considering personalities and backgrounds. The foreign language departments were great and the art teachers were amazing. Music teachers were very good and the performing arts department was adequate. The food was crap but students were allowed off campus since the school was surrounded by various food choices within walking and driving distance. The sports were awesome and decently competitive, especially with surrounding schools.
