My experience at Grace Church School has been overall good. I believe that Grace has prepared me for the outside world and has given me opportunities of a lifetime. One thing the school needs to improve on is its diversity and antiracism practices. A student of color's school experience should not be deterred because of racist incidents at school. The school needs to support students of color more when these things occur. Outside of that experience, I'd say that I'd choose Grace again for the resources it has provided to help me be successful, the teachers and faculty always willing to help, the community building, and the number of opportunities.
Excellent resources, community and academics, especially for a relatively new High School competing with other prestigious private schools in New York City. Not only does the community echo the values of the long-lasting school traditions, but it also (in my experience) delivered on every promise the school advertized and so much more. It isn't just a place of learning but a supportive and vibrant community full of enthusiastic and passionate people who want to see the students thrive.
So far Grace High School has been an excellent choice for our son. We have found the leadership to be particularly excellent along with the teachers. The school is very clear and consistent in its mission and expectations. There's no guesswork and students know where they stand. We have found Gracenet, particularly well set-up and an invaluable tool for students to stay abreast of their schedule assignments, clubs, progress etc.
The school is culturally very warm with a lot of parent involvement yet provides high expectations and strong character development amongst the students. High school students commute from all over the city (all five boroughs) and New Jersey as well. It's a rich and diverse environment. Our son could not be happier.
