So far Grace High School has been an excellent choice for our son. We have found the leadership to be particularly excellent along with the teachers. The school is very clear and consistent in its mission and expectations. There's no guesswork and students know where they stand. We have found Gracenet, particularly well set-up and an invaluable tool for students to stay abreast of their schedule assignments, clubs, progress etc.

The school is culturally very warm with a lot of parent involvement yet provides high expectations and strong character development amongst the students. High school students commute from all over the city (all five boroughs) and New Jersey as well. It's a rich and diverse environment. Our son could not be happier.

The school definitely still has a lot to figure out about itself. Grace suffers from major class divisions, and socioeconomic issues are hardly discussed. At Grace, the wealthier kids flaunt their wealth in order to accumulate social cred. Funding itself from the administration is not dispersed evenly, with certain sport teams and the drama department receiving disproportionately large amounts of funding, leaving those interested in less profitable activities, such as the visual arts, for example, totally lacking. The school also suffers from serious bullying issues which are not handled well by faculty or staff members. I experienced very extreme bullying which was not addressed by any authority figure despite any complaints. These kids loved to spread rumours, and a culture of kindness or integrity does not reside here. However, I had several amazing teachers who cared very much for my learning, and I did make some great friends. Would I send my own kid here? Definitely not.
Attending Grace Church was the best decision I made for High School. The school believes in educating the whole student. The 80 minute classes, diverse course offerings, top facilities, service learning, abroad opportunities are just a few of the many things that set Grace apart from other high schools. I would do it all over again!
