The people you meet at GHS can be either your best friends or worst enemies. The curriculum is very inclusive of all kinds of students, from coasters to aspiring scholars. GHS offers a wide variety of maths and science classes, along with all sorts of different electives and extracurriculars. The food and building quality itself could be seriously improved upon. The teachers are very involved and almost always seem interested in what they are teaching, which is very helpful in the learning process. The school could have a bit more stricter regulations as to improve the mass of delinquents and kids who don't have enough motivation to actually work in their classes.
Gouverneur High School allows for many different opportunities for everyone in both academics and extra curricular. It allows students to take multiple different college level course and for students to take courses a year in advance. Though this school does have it overall high perk, it also has quite a bit of drama involved and the music department is going downhill.
I enjoy the teachers and the education. They all work very hard, spending more time helping the students understand the material. The principal and leadership are very well organized and have made my senior year an enjoyable one so far. The people, obviously, are not so great. By that I mean the students. I enjoy the classes and the school itself, but not the students. The senior class is immature and enjoys whining about the tiniest of things. Few of them are concerned with studying. The teachers do the absolute best they can to engage their interests. Many of them I am very fond of. The athletics program is also great. They have diversity in many sports, and encouragement from teammates and coaches is top notch.
