I have gone to Gordon School ever since my Pre-K year of school and I am now a Senior in high school at Gordon. I have always enjoyed going to school in Gordon. However, I do wish we had more educational opportunities. We do not have very many class choices here. Every year they make have the same classes as the rest of the class. For example; everyone has to take ag instead of a Spanish class. One of the great things about Gordon is the small class sizes. I have had the same people in all of my classes ever since 5th grade. We have had a few people come and go.

My time at Gordon ISD was something I would never change. During my years at Gordon I learned that working hard and paying attention really pays off. I did not learn that the easy way, all through high school the boys of Gordon mainly have one thing on their mind which is 6-man football. Whether you are small, big, strong, or weak you have the opportunity to play 6-man football that is not only a sport but part of the tradition of Gordon ISD. I believe that is one of the things makes this school unique. The passion for the sport despite the fact that Gordon is a small 1A school. The other thing that makes it unique is the teachers. Teachers who not only help you during class but also go out of their way to make sure you understand the material that they cover. I will never forget one teacher named Sherry Holder. This teacher not only helped me struggle through math but she helped me get through school. Her teaching methods were sometimes strange, but they worked. She also made the school unique in her own way. I woudn't change a thing if I had a chance to do it all over again.
If you are an athlete this is the school for you. However if you are an academic do not expect recognition for your achievements. This school has no extracurricular activities for academic minds. To be fair they have beta club and participate in UIL events, but other than that this is an athletic school. Some of the teachers and even the principle tend to focus more on their athletes.
