I overall loved the school, With the new building came a lot of add on's. The students are friendly everyone knows everyone. Administration could be better about getting more involved with the students. But sports and academics are overall amazing.

Gordon Lee is a great school with a great community. Everyone tends to get along and you don't have problems with fights and drugs like you tend to have at other schools. If you are wanting a good school where your kid would grow up properly I'd send them to Gordon Lee. The teach you how to be responsible, and also teach you what a proper young man and woman should act like. My only concern with Gordon Lee is the dress code. I understand that you can't allow the dress code to be too open, because many people will take advantage of the; But at the same time, if you keep the dress code so strict it tends to take away creativity and self-expression, which can be very important for a young man or woman that's growing up.
I was a twelve year senior at Gordon Lee and I feel that maybe why my experience here was more exceptional than other students. The building itself while it didn't allow us to have some of the technology we needed was very charming. It was almost one hundred years old and it had transom and floor to ceiling windows in every class room in the older buildings. They are now building a new building a new school and while it looks the same on the outside it won't have transom windows or an auditorium with a ceiling that is two stories tall. I am kind of mad about this but I graduated this past spring so I won't be attending school in a building with little natural light, classrooms shoved into every nook and cranny, and no charm, like Ridgeland highschool (I've been inside Ridgeland more than once and it looks like a prison).
